Now what?!

You’ve packed your bags, you’re booked in at Vayu Retreat Villas, and you made it to Costa Rica, now what?

Alright, consider this article a guide for what to do in Costa Rica or why would you even come to Costa Rica, and how to not waste a single moment without making a memory that lasts for a lifetime. Welcome to the rich coast …

Let’s start with some quick facts you should know first:

1- Costa Rica is the most popular tourist destination in Central America

2- It’s the most biodiverse country in the world

3- It’s the safest country in Latin America, and

4- Here we have the Pacific Ocean on the west coast and the Caribbean sea on the east coast.

And here is what you can do in the land of tropical beaches, paradise jungles, secret waterfalls, and volcanos.

First of all, the wildlife:

Costa Rica is known for its rich jungles, plants, and animals. And most of the time you will be able to see many different kinds of animals and you will be surrounded by beautiful views everywhere, but,  if you would like to go deeper and discover more you can take a night tour through the jungle, why night?? It makes a sense of drama, besides, some things are just different during the night; luminescent arachnids, the famous red-eyed tree frog, curious raccoons, and sloths!

And if you want to enjoy the jungles in a more relaxing way, we recommend the hanging bridges where you will be walking among trees and clouds, such as in Monteverde.

Looking for some action and adventure? You might consider flying through the trees to explore more of the jungle while ziplining, or even repelling down a waterfall!

Speaking of waterfalls – Costa Rica has a rich abundance of waterfalls, famous ones like the Nauyaca or hidden falls only the locals know about. Either way, negative ions from free flowing water has an immediate positive effect on one’s well-being.

And if you are really interested in wildlife, then we recommend visiting a national park, like the Corcovado National Park, and have a full nature experience seeing taipers, 4 kinds of monkeys, sloths, frogs, snakes and perhaps even the large wild cats known to inhabit the Osa.
Exploring the jungle is magical in its own right, but the sea is a totally different story, a beautiful one, a whole new world waiting for you to explore under the sea. MCEC – Innoceana a conservation initiative and education center (https://www.mcecinnoceana.org/) located right here in Osa. They take a different approach to exploring the ocean, such as regrowing and

harvesting coral, whale observation (with sonar), and best of all, you can swim with a pod of wild dolphins – truly unforgettable.

And for all you coffee lovers out there, you can have a coffee tour where you can learn how it’s grown, dried, processed, and finally how it ends up in your cup.

For you chocolate lovers, you can have a cacao tour, and there you can make your own chocolate.

And if you want to relax and enjoy nature, we recommend just taking a day and exploring the many beaches here, there are several to choose from, and usually sparsely populated. Looking for a little closer to the resort? We are fortunate enough to have a creek beside the hotel. It’s a perfect spot to have your morning coffee, contemplate your morning and let all your thoughts disappear with the flowing water.  Pure Magic, Pura Vida!

And there are many more things you can do we just covered the most preferred
